Macbook not accepting CD

Hey all, I am trying to import a CD to iTunes. For some reason though, my Macbook doesn't like it. It will spin for a second or two, then stop, then spin for another second or two then spit it out. Is there anything I can do? It's kind of annoying.

You could try a different CD and see it this repeats it self.

Sounds like the CD may have a mark or scratch on the directory of the CD.

yeah, give the CD a cleaning or try again later after a restart. The MB superdrives are the pickiest optical drives I've ever dealt with. I'm on my second drive and still sometimes have probs with a variety of CD/DVD brands (even discs that have been burned/verified on my MB!). Thankfully I still have my 4 year old Compaq laptop for when I need to import the "troublesome" discs. Unimpressive.

Good luck

Its very strange, because the CD is brand new and works fine in my car stereo or anywhere else I play it. I've also tried dvds and cds in there and they have all worked perfectly...
