Just delete them from the camera. Better yet, after dumping the photos into the computer, use the camera to format the card. This is more reliable (tends to flag any errors on the card before you fill it up with new photos) and is faster than deleting individually.

Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone has had a similar issue or could help me.

I got a new Panasonic TZ5 camera with a 2GB SD card. When I hook the camera up to my MBP iPhoto will load up and ask me to import them. When the dialogue asks if I want to delete originals, I click 'delete originals' it comes up with an error saying it cannot delete them.

When I look at the info of the camera in finder, it says that it's read only. I can however delete the pictures from the camera. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
John
How do you like the TZ5? I have a TZ1 that I keep with me constantly but the manual lens cover is a bit of a pain.

It's a great camera. Just the right size to keep with me. The intelligent auto mode is very impressive. Great GUI design too!

The lens is excellent too, so wide!

Very happy.

That's the other thing. The TZ1 (which can't delete photos via USB either btw) starts at 36mm whereas the TZ5 starts at 28mm. May be time for an upgrade. 🙂
