Sorry, but this is official after all.

p.s I'm still in favor of iPod Touch.

Edit: Bottom right iPod.

I am honestly getting extremely sick of people arguing over this. I have asked a question here before and just gotten pages of "Its not an itouch idiot"
Why the hell do you care what I call it, we all know what we all are talking about, if the spelling of an MP3 player is the panic of your life, you need to do some thinking.... And most people probably call it an Itouch because of the Iphone...its not an Ipod Phone is it?

I obviously didn't make myself very clear. That's my point, who cares if it's iTouch or iPod touch - Apple have both.

I don't mean to support the arguing, but I want to elaborate on two points here.

1. This is a forum for Apple users, so this is an interesting topic because it is not just an MP3 Player, it is an Apple product that some of us find interesting

2. The iPhone is not part of the iPod product line, so it has a different name to differentiate from that product line. Check out the site and notice that the iPhone is separated from the iPods.

I think Apple should stick with the iPod touch name and stop confusing people

What I don't get is why :apple: felt the need to rename the iPod the iPod Classic, as all the others have a name so it shouldn't have been confusing (Shuffle, Nano, Touch).

If you said you had an iPod right now and didn't mention the GB size or the rest of the name I would have literally no idea which one you meant. If you said iPod classic, nano, shuffle, or touch, I would immediately know. It was fine to have just the name "iPod" when there was only one or two models, but when you have 4, it becomes harder to differentiate.

Also, I am sure Apple wanted to encourage people to purchase an iPod touch, as opposed to the old school "classic" iPod. I am not saying I don't like the classic, but doesn't that name seem like it is no longer on the cutting edge? Like you need to buy an additional, more "hip" iPod? Welcome to the Apple marketing team :)

What the hell, when is this topic going to be dropped?

iPod Touch - an MP3 player made by Apple Computer
iTouch - a range of other products, including touchscreen software for an EPOS computer.

It's as black and white as that.

The topic is supposed to be mainly about why Apple itself calls it an iTouch sometimes. (Although I admit to have steered the thread astray like 3 time now lol)

This is just getting ridiculous,

I don't care whether you call it an Itouch, a Touch, an Ipod Touch, a classic without a wheel and a bigger screen that you can touch, its all the same thing

No, SOMEONE took a screenshot and then edited it in paint to say "iTouch". Apple would never call it an iTouch. If thats the name they wanted, we'd all be saying it. I don't think this is really something to argue about, but personally i cringe when i see iTouch in the forums.

So you think the image was photoshopped? lol I guess I just automatically gave the benefit of the doubt a fellow forum member, I didn't take into account that it was probably faked. Good call, hmmmmmm

Actually I just went to the Apple UK online store and it truely does say iTouch. Man Apple, thats embarrasing.

Maybe it could be put to sleep if we think of it that iTouch is like a nickname for the ipod touch. like you just say nano or shuffle without putting ipod in front every time, to make it quicker, because tbh sometimes you have to use the name 3 or 4 times in a single post and it can be a right hassle to type it all out each time. OK, usually I try to say the Touch (especially with a capital T) like I would say the nano (and not the inano*), but that's mostly 'cause I don't wanna rile any macrumors bigwigs :D (I know my place lol) But maybe we can just deal with it by thinking of itouch as just a random nickname. raggedjimini has a point, but mostly in this forum, itouch is gonna be about this litle feller, right?

So not as much chance of confusion I reckon, not most of the time anyways:)

*heh. if you read that different, it's a pun.:p

Thanks to who ever clarified. This wasn't and isn't meant to be a thread for your petty arguments, the sole statement was to stop these. If you're not interested, why post? You're causing or spurring an argument which is unnecesary. Seriously some users need to think outside the box a little.
