Thumbs up IntelliScreen

Been using this for a couple of days .. pretty useful.

Need to know where your next meeting is? Do you have any new email? What about a quick glimpse at your SMS/Text messages or weather? Want to catch the latest news, but Safari is too slow? IntelliScreen allows you to glimpse at your critical data on your iPhone "Slide to Unlock" screen!

I'm sorry, but that type of cluttered nonsense is why I left Windows Mobile and got an iPhone in the first place. Blech!

nice,
what I would really like is just a quick summary of unread emails, texts, missed calls. By summary I mean just the icon with the little red dot that says the number. That way I could have that info at a glance without having any "real" info showing before the phone is unlocked.

I'm with you on that one.. I'd really like it if I could turn off the preview of what text messages say, but only an alert that I have a text and maybe who it's from.

It is really cluttered, and it does defeat the purpose of a clock there but it is nice. If this came for free as a download from the app store, I would definatly give this a try. Lots of nice information there, looks nice, but they definatly should do something with the clock, move it if they can, or otherwise.

I like this app. Sometimes I wish I could get more info about calender, email, etc without unlocking; but I do really like the uncluttered look.

Cool

I was wishing for an app like this. I'll be upgrading from a PocketPC to the 3G iPhone when it comes out, and I really like having the home screen with all my appointments visible when I turn on the device.

Let's hope they come out with an official app store version for those of us who choose not to jailbreak our devices.

I'd like something like this (in terms of function), but instead shows up as tiny icons in the upper menu bar next to the battery icon. I already get the pop ups when I get a missed call or a text message. I just want a tiny icon to come up when I have received an email or missed an appointment.

Most hideous thing I have seen on the iPhone yet..

Seriously! Are you people kidding me??!! You *want* this ugly cluttered trash all over your screen?? Wow there is no accounting for taste. Good lord what an abomination. Smite thee from the App store Apple!

I've installed it on my iPod touch and I must say... I like this app quite a lot. Once of my top 10 of all time for the iPhone OS. Can't wait for June + 2.0 + AppStore

+1. My Orange SPV spends it's life turned off for that very reason.

I don't like the cluttered crap either, but I do like the Vonagent that they have on their website. Looks like an installer app. I have vonage and would love this app.

That one I like. It is right to the point and it isn't so big that it takes up to much real estate on the front. If something like this was out I would use it.

Agreed. That looks much better and gives you the quick summary info that you would want from the 'Slide To Unlock' screen. If you want more details, then slide to unlock!

Another vote of agreement here!

At first, I thought this app was going to completely *replace* the original "slide to unlock" display screen with a revamped one. Instead, it just tossed a bunch of translucent windows over the top of it. Messy!

If you HAVE to do this with a window drawn over the top of the existing screen, then something like the mock-up example posted is FAR superior. Don't cover up the original clock time display, at least!

Even so, your readability and results will vary, based on the selected background wallpaper. (The "earth" wallpaper is probably one of the best possible ones to choose, since it's a simple object with a black background around it.)

That's why I'd rather see a wholesale replacement of the original screen. Maybe display the selected wallpaper in a translucent (faded/dimmed) fashion, with information clearly drawn in the foreground? The clock digits could be drawn in a smaller font or moved to a different place too, if necessary, to keep it all from getting too "cluttered".
