Where can i download boot camp for tiger?

You can't legally get bootcamp for Tiger any more. You'd have to get it from shadier parts of the net. If you are going to get it that way then i'd recommend getting the leopard version of bootcamp.

Remember though that you don't actually need bootcamp to install windows on a mac. All bootcamp does is give you a graphical interface to resize your harddrive and give you drivers you may need for windows.

I don't think the partitioning part of leopard bootcamp will work in tiger (i'm not sure where to download this). However the leopard bootcamp drivers will work fine with windows (windows doesn't care what other OS is on the system).

One thing to remember is that the bootcamp partitioning utility is just a front-end for a command line utility built into OSX called "diskutil".

If you are comfortable with the command line you can do this by hand with

"diskutil resizeVolume disk1s2 limits"

where disk1s2 is the disk you want to resize and 'limits' is the new size.

use

man diskutil

on the command line to get further information on how to use the command

Yup. For Tiger users

Back up your OS X partition.
Create new HFS and NTFS partitions with Disk Utility (or use iPartition $$$ to preserve data).
Insert Windows XP SP2 disc
Reboot Mac, holding down Option.
Boot from XP disc to install it on the NTFS partition.

Drivers are the main issue though, since you can't download the effectively from anywhere legit. Best solution is to borrow someone's Leo DVD for the latest drivers. (The ISO of just the drivers is floating around in the less legit parts of the 'net too.)

I agree with backing up but you don't need to wipe your drive. You can use diskutil command line util to nondestructively resize the drive (also the graphical disk utility will sometimes let you do this). Remember that bootcamp just uses this utility to resize the drive, so if it can do it without you needing to format/reinstall then why can't you?

Could it expire, as it's a beta version? I was told that it doesn't work by

The Boot Camp beta released for use with Tiger has expired and will no longer install unless (as I recall) you set your system clock back to 2007.

If you have an existing Boot Camp beta installation under Tiger, it will continue to work even after the expiration date.

Good idea! Did you try this before? Can I set back to 2008 after installation?

...can i install a NEWER version of bc if i have the original beta? I don't have leo and have decided to wait for snoleo release, but would LOVE to have more functionality (specifically right-clicking in windows)...any tips here?

You can get the leopard bootcamp driver set from dubious sites around the internet. You don't actually need to update anything on the tiger side of things to get the new drivers on windows, since windows is totally separate.
