I have my DB excluded from Time Machine backups (obviously). Currently I have a crontab that runs once a week on Fridays, and use a simple shell script using the ditto command to copy the DB to my second internal drive. This copy then gets backed up via Time Machine.

I figure this way I would only lose no more than 5 days worth of email locally (I store it on the server for 15 days).

If my DB is 1GB, then it'd take up about 52GB of space in Time Machine. I guess I could always go in and delete after a certain point in TM. Or maybe I only copy the files over every other week since I store it on the server for 15 days.

Just curious on how others back their Entourage DB?
