Lost (shockingly) my apple remote and bought a new one. Apple TV however does not seem to recognize it. The screensaver is running but when I hit the home button on the remote nothing happens. The light on the Apple TV does light up with the amber color when i hit a button, but again nothing actually happens on the screen. I also tried holding the home/fast forward button for 6 seconds to pair the remote with the Apple TV, but stil nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Replace the battery in the remote?
Unplug the Apple TV and plug it back in. You may need to pair the new remote and since you dont have the old on it won't recognize the new one.
