anyone else have an annoying ticking noise on their fan at 1800rpm??

it seems to go away when i put the fan speed higher

i'm wondering if there is dust or something that is affecting or something

should i take it to an apple store?

I have a friend who bought a refurbed iMac with a similar problem and Apple repaired it. I diagnosed it as a fan noise and they thought it was the optical drive. It turned out to be the fan. - GDF

damn that seems like such a nuisance...
i'm going to buy an air compressor can and see if it's dust

if that doesn't work i guess the only resort is to bring it to the apple "geniuses"

The "ticking" sound might be the fan wobbling slightly and possibly hitting something. Sometimes moving the fan at higher speeds causes the wobble to stop. Might even be bad fan bearings. But, give the compressed air a try first.

Regards.
