I think squeeks is trying to describe The Core, but that's what I got out of submarine and burning. 😛

I thought that, but it's not really a submarine. Did everything start to burn? I can't remember. I just remember it being a really bad B movie.

EDIT: Just check wikipedia and you could be correct.
 
Nobody was burning in The Core, well nobody outside of Virgil's passengers. The Core was about gravity going byebye, IIRC.

(a terrible film btw, set the core spinning by exploding nukes?!)

While the team is underground, the world is struck by more disasters. Huge blasts of microwave radiation from the sun break through the atmosphere, melting the Golden Gate Bridge and frying half of San Francisco.

Yeah, not a very memorable film...
 
Crazy how I can remember the name of the machine they're in but not the melting of SF. Maybe it is The Core after all.
 
I remember that one.

Walter Pigeon as Captain Nemo, with Kirk Douglas and Peter Lorre vastly miscast.

A good laugh movie anyway.
