I was just about to launch into reapplying thermal paste for my MBA 1.6, but then a friend whispered that he had some rough results on the case after opening it up. Specificially "adhesive tape not sitting properly on the inside, scratches around the edges, small marks inside the screws and also it gets kind of loose on the inside".

Anyone else experience any of these problems, or is my friend just extremely uncareful when ripping apart (?) his MBA? 😱

Poppycock! I've opened mine up at least four times and you can't even tell. You must use the right sized screwdriver and be careful - that's all.

I may sound harsh, but your friend is ill equipped and probably not skilled enough to service a laptop...

Can he built a computer with his eyes blindfolded yet?
