How do i make sure my phone numbers are backed up?

i want to restore my i phone. I dont want to lose my contacts numbers. how do i check to make sure they are backed up on my computer?

well if you add contacts while on the go, when you plug your iPhone into iTunes a message should pop up from iSync or AdressBook asking you to sync your contacts. Check AdressBook to see if all of your contacts match cause thats where your iPhone stores and retrieves that information.
I assume you are on a Mac due to your specs you have listed.

Yea your address book on your mac is your backup

that's the beauty of the iphone and syncing with a mac, it is so seemless and especially easy!

If you are on Windoze it is suppose to sync with outlook but I heard it doesn't work so well.

It works perfectly well with my Outlook '07.
I'm not usually one to say Windows has made anything good, but it works.
