My old 4GBipod nano got broken so my mom brought me a new 4GB ipod nano from a pawn shop. The new ipod's verison is 1.1.2 and the battery won't charge as great as my old ipod even if I do leave the new ipod charging all night long. The new ipod won't lasts for two hours as my old ipod lasts for over a week. Do I need a new battery replacement?

Also, where can I check to see when the previous owner brought the ipod? (like the date). I remembered somewhere on apple's official site that they had a program whee you enter the serial number and it shows the date when the ipod was brought. I can't seem to recolate it.

Just check the serial number on the Apple support website - doesn't matter who bought it, the warranty is applied to the serial number.
