Is there a way to sort the albums in iTunes first by artist, then by year

e.g.
Infectuous Grooves - Groove Family Cyco - 1994
Infectuous Grooves - Mas Borracho - 1999
Interpol - Antics - 2004
Interpol - Our Love To Admire - 2007
Iron Maiden - Brave New World - 2000
Iron Maiden - Dance Of The Death 2003

Because most of the times I'd like to listen to a group's albums but chronologically.

iTunes nog only gives the option to
either sort the albums by artists, (and then sorts the albums alfabetically afterwarths)
or sort the albums by year (and then sorts the albums alfabetically if they have the same name)

I was thinking about exactly the same thing earlier today. I'd love to have my music sorted by artist and then year of album, but I've fiddled a fair bit with iTunes and I haven't found a way. Does anyone have any ideas?

PS Hi from Brussels Thomas421!

I've found a way that works from tiem to time:
if you first click on Year
and then on artist

it kinda does what I want, but it doesn't work for albums with multiple artists for example (it ignores the album artist setting)

and: hey from Antwerp

Just click the "Album" sort tab until it changes to "Album by Year". It will sort albums first by Artist and then Year.

I'll confirm this. Just click the "Album" header twice and it changes to "Album by Year". That's how I've had iTunes set up for years.

As stated, in itunes file menu click "view" and then "view options". on the lower option change from title to year. In tearms of compilation albums right-click/shift-click on the album, and change the release date to desired. (many compilation albums don't have a single release date due to individual tracks being released at different points)
Hope this Helps
