Hi,

Is it possible to convert a photograph to look like a pencil drawing?

If so, which piece of software enables you to do this?

Yeah, but with more definite lines.

The photo that I'm wanting to work on is of a window and is quite bold, hence needing definite lines in the drawing...

you have PS? try the skecth and stylize filters. 😀

Painter 8, from Corel, is a natural media graphics application and can give you a starting point that looks like a drawing and gives you the tools to complete it in the same fashion.

I have access to PS so will give that a go.

also look up 'Digital Tutors' on google. they've got a good PhotoShop tutorial on making a photo look like a drawing.

it's a really good tutorial, and you should be able to adapt it for your needs. 🙂

i assume you want something like this...

i made it black and white, fixed up the levels to not include too much white, copied the layer, gaussian blur a bit and brought the opacity of the top layer down, then on the bottom layer i added a bit of monochormatic gaussian noise.
