storing videos
i want to try to keep my home videos on a external hard drive for future uses. when i import them into imovie 06 which setting should i use to export them so that i don't lose any quality. i'm thinking .dv format but i'm not sure.

Storing them in their native format would mean no quality loss. So if you recorded DV, then storing as the same would be the same quality. In fact, if you did shoot DV, just keep the original tapes stored in a cool dry place. Tapes are still much cheaper than HD space.
