🙁 Apple has gotten into a no-buttons-on-the-CD player kick.
F-12 is for an internal CD/DVD
Best bet is Roxio Toast because it allows you to select which burner you want to eject, the internal or any attached and recognized external.
File • Edit • Recorder...
Pull down "Recorder" and select which Recorder you want to Eject (open/close tray).
Eject is also Command + "E"
If you have a CD/DVD Disc showing on your Desktop, Drag it to Trash, and Trash Can turns into the Eject symbol.

theipodgod16, It helps if you disclose your computer and laser drive brand when asking for help, either in the question itself as background or in your MacRumors' Profile (clicking your name discloses no computer nor much of anything else except that everyone guesses you like your iPod). I also really want to be able to do this too, ever since I got my firewire burner it has been a pet annoyance. You can only push the button to open it when it has nothing in, when it has something in you have to command e or drag the disk to the trash...

Under System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extra there is a file called Eject.menu. Run it, and it will ad a menu to the upper right of the menu bar that will allow you to pick which drive you want to eject on your maching. I Believe with the system prefs, or TinkerTool you can modify the short cuts, and create a short cut that will allow you to use any key combo to eject your second drive. Try it, you will have to restart for the new shortcut to be activated, but it should work fine.

Thanks, TEG, it was already there for me, just did not realize how dynamic it was for choice.

You can also just click on the name of the recorder, at the bottom of the Toast Window.. if you have more than one drive, it should cycle to the next drive each time you click on the name.
