iPod touch ipod touch dead???

ok so the new iphones have more features and are now lower priced is this the end for the ipod touch???

would you pay for a touch and keep you mobile when you could have both in one, for cheeper??? 🙄
 
The iPhone 3G isn't actually cheaper. The retail price for the handset has decreased, yes, but to compensate,
the monthly contract tariffs have gone through the roof.

iPod is still extremely desirable with it's iPhone interface, the functionality that the January Software update brought
and it's free internet usage ...

iPod touch isn't going anywhere, yet.

I'm sure the Apple and AT&T marketing teams read posts like these and rub their hands together in glee.
 
iPod Touch dead? Ha ha.

With more memory, exact same features (including internet) other than phone/cam, and no long-term contracts, the Touch is actually still a better product. I'd like to see less expensive plans for the iPhone; at that point, I might actually get one. But for now, two devices (a phone and an ipod Touch) will have to do.

it is not cheaper the total you pay for the iphone since you need to get a plan is $1975

$1975 is sooo much cheaper then 370.99 for a 16gb ipod touch 🙄 Theres still going to be people who say the Iphone is cheaper..I've pretty much gave up on trying to explain 😱

I'll roll my eyes even further.

That "total" price includes voice calling, roll over minutes, unlimited internet access, almost instant access to all kinds of information, for example, directions, weather, traffic.

If you get other cell phone plans, is it free? Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it's not useful to get the iPhone plan. The relative price difference is not $1975. 🙄🙄🙄

Let's just make it simple, then. Ipod Touch + Cell phone is cheaper than iPhone plus Required Data Plan. $30x24months = $720. Take away $100 for the price diff, and it's $620. Heck, let's double the storage on the Touch and it's still $520 diff.

Often it isn't whether or not someone can afford it, but whether or not it's worth the $520. For some people it isn't. I don't need to browse the internet while I'm driving, and half my travel area isn't covered by AT&T at all -- so it definitely isn't worth it to me. But I can see how someone in a 3G area who needs to be on the internet all the time could want to spend that $520.

Meanwhile I'll have more storage for movies, music, etc. on the Touch.
 
costs

ok now i deal in pounds.. and for all those who say that the ipod price is really low compared to the cost over the contract for the iphone, please include how much you pay for your mobile costs, as these should be included in your figures to fully compare and im sure you will find its no really that bad....

we in the uk also get unlimited data in our contracts..im on the £35 one so £630 for the contract plus £159 for the new 16gig phone (i did hope they would announce a 32 gig one.. it is going to come prob november ish)

maybe us in the uk r better off then lol go o2......
