Apple Powerbook AC Adapter - Busted?

My AC adapter for my 12" powerbook has been going on the fritz lately. When I use the removable 2-prong adapter, it doesn't want to maintain a circuit to an outlet. When I remove the two-prong and put on the three-prong-cord, I have no problems.

Anyone else experienced this? My guess is the 2-prong has become loose from being extended + collapsed too much...

Is it possible to buy only the two-prong piece rather than a whole new AC adapter?

Any other tricks to fix it?
