iPod Album art during the "Now Playing" of main menu?

When I'm at the main menu while I'm playing a song, when I scroll down to "Now Playing," it shows the song info on a gray background with a music note. Is it supposed to be displaying the album art? When I actually click on "Now Playing," it correctly shows that song's art. It just seems weird that it would show the music note, since that's the default image for something that doesn't have album art. Thanks all!
