Sony DW-U14A: DVD burner

In response to the many dvd burner upgrade questions out there...

I bought a Sony DW-U14A drive from mwave.com for $140. Yes i know their website is a little *awkward* but the price was awesome.

Compatibility: out of the box, none.
no problem: i got some modified drivers from here: http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/action...=34100&-search

i installed it in my 400 MHz AGP Graphics machine in 10 minutes no problems.

I've burned from iTunes, Toast, the finder, iDVD, just like a superdrive with no problems.

I chose this one over the Pioneer 105 drive because of reports that people were having problems with the drive sleeping with disks in it and causing KPs.

I highly recommend this burner.

If anybody wants any more info, just ask: I spent a lot of time researching before i bought it.
