G4 memory 4 512mb or 2 1gb

This might not matter either way but im looking to get some more memory for my G4 which runs the pc2700 333 and want to upgrade it to the full 2gb max. Should i get 4 512mb sticks or 2 1 gb sticks? Does it matter? My thinking was it might be better for it to just have to utilize just the 2 1gb sticks rather than having to run the 4 512's. Any help would be great.

I believe with G4's each dimm only supports a 512.

I believe your machine will only accept four sticks of 512MB. I don't think it will recognize 1GB chips if you have a PM G4 Mirrored Door. Others will correct me if I am in error here.

See the Processing and Memory under the Technical Specifications section on this link:
