Macbook as tv remote?

I'm stuck in the emergency waiting room and really want to watch the baseball game. Is there anyway I can use the IR port on my macbook to change the channel?

find an alternate sport to watch?

change the channel yourself?

ask someone to change it?

watch a movie online?

steal some drugs from the hospital to help time pass?

race wheelchairs?

all viable solutions to boredom

MacBook only has an IR receiver AFAIK, so no, you can't use it to transmit IR signals.
