how do you find out when your imac was made?

my serial serial number stars with w8.

Oh that's an easy one. It was made in China. Because they're all made in China (afaik).

EDIT: Doh! I though you wrote "where," not "when."

The serial number tells you the week. First 2 digits are the factory, 3rd digit is the year, 4th and 5th digits are the week.

Its an App to check the health and information on MB/P batteries. It also tells you the age of your mac (in days), be it iMac G3 or MacBook Pro.

My iMac is 567 days old
