Why don't the boxes have the carriers on them?

1. So that they don't have to print 75 different box covers.

The AT&T logo was on the back on the 1st gen iPhone box.
Well I know 75 is a lot more than about five. But I believe all of the 1st gen boxes had the logo on top.

Regarding the boxes, has anybody seen this posted on appleinsider:
