Does 2.0 still have the limit of nine homescreens? With space for only 16 apps per screen, that's only a total of 144 apps that can be seen (148 if you count the ones in dock).

With 500 new apps available, I was wondering if the nine homescreen limit would be changed to something higher or not. I suppose it's possible the SIZE of these new apps would limit how many you could put on one iPhone/Touch, but many of them are just under 1mb.

Well I don't think I'll ever have that many on my phone, but I can see myself filling up to 5-6 screens easily. I'm SURE there are people on here who would want more than 148 apps on their phone. There's more than 500 available now, and lots and lots more coming...

i doubt many people would have 144 apps on their iphone

I think that people could have more apps on their iphone than on their desktop.
Maybe not 144 - but I think most people will hit 30 without breaking a sweat, and that's just on first glances, till things start winnowing down.

well I will say that after 9 months of jailbreaking I can tell you that once you get to about 5 pages of apps it gets rather ridiculous to scroll to find something even if it is organized.
