I just received two acceptances in Canada. One was submitted when the program started and the other a few weeks ago. It looks like the program is completely open now.

Best of luck to all the developers who were waiting.

I'm happy for you guys, but as a guy with an app already in the store, I'm also concerned. The review process for submitting apps/updates has been taking long enough as it is, the last thing any of us need is for it to get any slower. This is especially true for all of us who want to get important updates to our apps into the store.

One would hope that the App Store acceptance team would review updates that are bug fixes on a priority basis. After all, a buggy app reflects more poorly on the store than an app they don't even sell yet. But they're busy enough (understatement) that they probably do not want to encourage a lot of updates, some of which may not be critical to the customer, stuffing up the pipeline.

My initial submit is still stuck "In Review".

Snail Mail, Really?

So yesterday morning I got the aforementioned email too, and I purchased D4521G/A from the developer store. Do I really have to wait for something to arrive in the postal mail or will there be a follow-up email with my activation code? I want to start testing on an actual phone!

Me Too

Finally got my chance to pay my £59 for the privelege of puttng my own apps on my own iPhone (officially :-().

However the next part of the process is not clear. In the docs it sayd that I must create a CSR (certificate signing request) to get my certificate via the portal, BUT I don't know the CA email address, nor can I find anywhere to post the CSR if I could produce one.

Hopefully it will all become clear in time. Anybody know what to do?

Exact same issue here, signed up to the developer program today and purchased through the online apple store, have recieved an email to let me know the order will be digitially delivered, but I havent recieved anything else.

I've read over at Iphone Dev Central that you need to login to the portal and generate a certificate - I assume that this should be done at http://developer.apple.com/iphone however I cannot see any options to do this??

Same here. I'm in Germany, paid the fee, got a confirmation email for my purchase stating that the item has been delivered electronically but I didn't get an activation code yet. In an older thread I read that it can take 24 hours until the activation code arrives. I think we should just be patient...

There are instructions on the developer portal. You have to read them extra carefully several times, as there are multiple steps (well over a dozen) to get ALL the certificates, device ids, provisioning profiles, xcode organizer and project build configurations exactly correct. There are several web pages full of instructions. A lot of developers got stuck for days because they missed one step on one page. It took me 5 hours once to figure out I had dropped 1 certificate (out of maybe 4) in the wrong place.

You have to use the Keychain in Leopard 10.5.3. The instructions in the dev portal take you step by step on exactly how to get your CSR. Read them again.

I'm a bit bothered by your comment. This levels the playing field and will improve the quality of Applications in the store. I'm glad to see Apple is making good on their promise. I will finally be able to debug my multi touch game and finish it. Your not the only developer out there who wants to add his application to the store, others should have the same right and we're all in this together. Hopefully, Apple is prepared and will have the necessary resources in place to ensure that App updates get approved in a timely manner.

Thanks,
Cesar

I think I going blind

Really cannot find this link...

"Download the OS X iPhone Disk Image (.dmg) from the iPhone Dev Center for the Apple device you are using."

I there, but the link didn't turn up to the party.

Anyone give me any pointer for this?

I think they haven't updated the docs yet.. Now that the 2.0 firmware is released, you just need that on your phone. There's no longer a development firmware version or the need to turn the phone into a development brick to provision an application in development.

Apple iPhone Developer Docs are out of date

The docs are for the pre-release version of general release iphone firmware 2.0. "Restore" in iTunes to the this latest 2.0 firmware and hopefully the xcode will pop up and ask if you want to use for development.
