Any way to copy text messages from 2G to 3G?

I've got two iPhones, 2G and a new 3G.

Is there any way to copy all my text messages off the 2G onto the 3G?

I wish MobileMe would backup this stuff.
 
I could be wrong but iTunes should back this all up for you. It does it automatically for your first-gen phone, when it syncs. You might be able to put this backup onto iPhone 3G. I still don't have one yet, so i can't confirm this, perhaps a first-gen backup is incompatiable with a 3G handset.

You could urm... buy me one, and i'd find out for you 😀
