Why doesn't apple tell ATT to tell us that no new stock until ...

i mean come on..wouldn't that make sense, apple saying to ATT that they wont receive any new shipments until lets say July 20th or so (making it up) so ATT can say to us, chill out for now?
 
Because if people keep on seeing lines they'll wonder and get in line themselves. It's all part of marketing.

Look at the Wii. As long as people know there are shortages they'll go nuts.
