Looooong iPhone 3G backups

anyone else noticing it takes forever to backup their new iPhone 3G?
mine takes about 30mins, i have installed apps (obv.) both on the phone and from itunes, the iphone was restored from a backup of my 2G iphone and was fine to begin with... now its just having PMT... constantly, anyone else got this problem/know how to fix it?

Yes, mine takes so long that I usually stop the backup because all I want to do is add a song or two.

yep. it is super annoying and widely noted... I am sure there will be done something in a software update

Yup - this really SUCKS. If i just want to get an updated podcast, it takes forever.

My 2G phone also has very slooooooooooow syncs due to the backup. I wonder if aaple will fix this. It really bothers me how Apple's QA dept missed this.
