What is "other" in itunes
I've noticed my other section in itunes is getting larger since i've added several apps to my iphone, does this section house all of the installed apps and just increase as updates happen?

I'm guessing it's the OS + apps installed.

It's mostly housekeeping stuff. In addition to the OS and installed apps, there's your saved text messages, photos in the camera roll, file attachments in e-mail, and some databases that keep track of all your settings and statistics. All of this makes up "other."
