Twinkle is available!

One of the better apps from the old Installer is now available in firmware 2.0. I will have a full review in a bit.

Go ahead and download this free app!

App Store Link

quick review

Love it so far! Seems to scroll a lot smoother and just be zippier than twitterific and twittilator.

Also, I believe they're running a parallel "twitter" service that just uses your email address as username, you can also link your twitter account in settings, but its interesting that it's creating another service. neato

I love the updated interface. It looks like OS X Leopard a little bit, which is a good thing!

How do you change your "identity?" I made a typo and now it won't change.

At least you got asked for an identity - for me it just picked one of my email addresses and websites and used that without even asking! I don't know where it got it from as I've never been a Twinkle user before.

Plus it is crashing whenever I try to tap on any links in a tweet.

So far I'm preferring Twittelator...

To change my identity, I just erased my email and went to enter another one. It then let me change it.

Finally I was really hating that other app. I really miss twinkle from when I had it on the installer

I can change my email address fine, but it's not changing my username/status/title.

Did you create an identity for Tap Tap Revenge to upload high scores? If so, both those apps share identity info since they are made by the same company.

I'm having issues with Twinkle crashing (I know they say 2.0 is unstable, but I have about 30 apps from the App store now and only Twinkle is crashing consistently.) Also, I can't believe someone was already using my normal user name! That just sucks... (not twinkle's fault though.)

It looks promising if it gets more stable for me.

Twitterrific was causing my iPhone to reboot upon starting up.. it was random but annoying... would reset my statistics.. so in with Twinkle and out with Twitterrific.. both good imo, though.

I'm glad twinkles back, but in my first twit using it, it froze once....

Hopefully it was just user error.

Twinkle is tied with Pandora for the killer iPhone app at the moment. The geotagged tweets is just too cool. If you're anywhere near a metropolitan area your local wall is insane. This blows Twitterriffic out of the water with a 1,000 megaton nuclear warhead... AND it's free with no ads!

Remarkable!

I used this on my Jailbroken 1.1.4 phone, and I loved it. The local wall is also very cool - in London, where I was, there was a fantastic local community.

I'd recommend you all try it out. This is one of the best applications out there.

So something I'm curious of- http://tapulous.com/blog/2008/07/tapulous-is-hiring/

How does a company with three products, all of which are free and have absolutely no advertising have money for salary? I'm assuming a venture capitalist that missed the memo on the whole ".com business plan where you give everything away for free" doesn't work...

Possibly living off savings until they get hundreds of thousands of free downloads that they can approach venture people with.

But I think they are working on a paid deluxe version of tap tap so they may just go that route instead.

Ah - yes that explains it. Thanks.

Still would be nice to be able to change username though

The Twinkle servers seem to be down for the last hour now. Geolocation doesn't work. Tweets aren't coming though either. Hopefully they fix this soon especially seeing they aren't even addressing it on their support forums.

This app is stunning in appearance.

I think it's the best looking app on the store, currently - and it's functional.

5 Stars.
