How do I increase folder size?

Hi

I'm trying to copy 100Mb of MP3's to my itunes directory; the hard disk has 200Mb free, but the folder says only 20Mb free... Is there somewhere in the preferences where I have to set max folder size to -1 or something?

I'm pretty sure that your computer is telling you that you only have 20 MB left to be safe. There isn't any way to set the max folder size. I think that this is a way to prevent the windows problem of "Sorry, you are out of hard drive space. Please throw out all your precious files." You should look into freeing up your hard drive a little. After you use 75% of your HDD, your OS/computer will slow down by something like 33%.
 
ok, if your computer has gotten into the MB range its time for you to invest in a new hard drive.

Sorry, potato potarto - I meant Gb, my mac has 200Gb free...

Actually, what I have done is turned filevault off, and now my folder limit is the same as my remaining disk...

Seems like filevault has a maximum folder size...
