Would you consider the new iphone to be part of the 1G?

Yea, I consider it as a very minor upgrade. There're a lot of things Apple can improve for the next gen. Maybe, the front-camera, better camera with auto-focus, better battery, a totally new awesome look, and EVEN THINNER!
Heck no. It's not the same form factor (try fitting a 3G in the dock for the first-gen phone). It has 3G and GPS, which are extreme updates for a phone. I'll give you that it's not as an extreme update as the 5th gen iPod was (adding video), but I doubt anything could be as extreme. The 6th gen iPod Classic just added storage, changed the case a little bit, and added Cover Flow (wooooo).

And no, they didn't. Sounds like you're mad at something with Apple.
