Okay, here is my idea.

A stereo component that replaces both a DVD player and a VCR. It would be a unit that plays DVDs, and records TV programs to a Hard Disk in the unit. It would also have an on screen menu system to control the unit.

This device would be Firewire enabled ( so you could play songs off your iPod ), and it would have an AirPort card in it so it could access the internet via your Mac in the home office. The Airport connection would allow the unit to receive software updates, and access TV listings. Also, the home office Mac could mount the disk in the iRecorder and copy tv programs onto the Mac to play with in iMovie or iDVD.

What does everyone think?
