I was actually trying to do the same with a belkin f5d7230-4. I wanted to keep my fast stuff on 5ghz n-only, but still need to support g stuff. Also, I wanted to use the remote app on the iphone to control my atv.

I have no idea how to do it, my belkin router doesn't support bridge mode. If your netgear does have a bridge mode, that is how you would do it.
