Digidesign and FCP 4

I've been trying for many months now with no luck. Does anyone have any insight into this problem? I'm running Pro-Tools5.0 and FCP4 on the same G4 (OS9 and X) and am trying to find a way to get FCP to use digidesign HW for audio playback. There has to be a way. I'm sure it involves some roundabout methods, but does anyone have any advice?

I would guess you'd need something like the HD logic bridge that allows Logic to talk to the Digi hardware, I've never run FCP through the M-box, I'll give it a shot when I get back home.

Logic runs very well with Digi hardware, but I imagine it's a bit more involved than simply selecting the Digidesign HW option in the sound preferences panel, right?
 
yeah it's definitely more involved than changing the sound preferences from built-in to digidesign. how much more involved, though, is where I'm getting stuck.
