Using 60% RAM? WHAT IS THIS!

so theres this thing in istatmenus and in activity monitor called kernel_task and WTF is this its driving me crazy...i'm going to upgrade my ram to 4gb but until then i rly wanna know how i can fix this plz help

You should Force Quit it.

my suggestion is to not worry about the way OS X and its system processes utilise RAM. just check out this thread, read this article and only show "My Processes" in Activity Monitor.
