Greetings from germany, and sorry for bad english.
I am not a mac-user, yet.
I bought a RASTEROPS 2168 monitor on ebay.
Has anybody got information about the monitor?
It does not work with my pc under linux.
Probably it is a monitor for mac..

technical dates:

Model: 2168
Max Resolution: 1152 x 870
Sync Type: Sync on Green
H Freq/ V Freq: 68.68 Khz / 75.08 Hz
Tube Manufacturer: hitachi
Monitor Type:
Tube Model: CM2186A3UY
Tube Size: 21
Connector: 3 BNC

yeah, the BNC connector connected to all the old macs (pre-cube I believe). The converters from BNC to VGA exist . In fact, I have one here 😉. You should be able to find one on ebay though.

Yes the old Mac monitors used a different sync method (Sync on Green) than standard PC monitors of the day.

One of the reasons Apples needed a converter block to run standard VGA monitors.

Since it's an old Apple-style monitor, you need to reverse the process to go back to standard VGA. And doesn't help the monitor used a Rasterops BNC card. Instead of a synce on green VGA port (aka Mac-VGA).
