MacRumors.com MWSF Keynote Coverage

The Keynote is approaching. If you are not at the keynote itself, or an Apple Store that is hosting the event, here are your best bets for up to the minute info.

Live Webcast

Apple's official Webcast - This video feed is your best bet to get the full "Keynote Experience". Requires Quicktime. A fast connection helps.

IRC - Internet Relay Chat

In order of preference (please choose only one):

1) If you have an IRC Client, point it to server: irc.newnet.net channel: #macrumors for moderated Keynote updates, and channel #macrumorschat for live keynote discussion.

2) If you do not have an IRC Client or do not know how to configure one, choose one of the following options

a) MRChat 1.0.1 (Mac OS X download) - will allow you to watch updates, but will not allow you to chat during the event.
b) http://irc.tecknohost.com/ - This Java-based client will also allow you to watch, but not participate.

Live website updates

Live updates will also be provided on MacRumors.com. http://www.macrumors.com will direct you to the proper location when the time approaches.

For alternative web-update locations, see MacBytes.

With http://irc.tecknohost.com/ I get an error
Code:
Couldn't establish connection to lithium.tecknohost.com on port 6,667.
Should I be able to yet? Or is it just my PC & work & their firewall messing it up?

The keynote comes just in time for my lunch hour. I'll leave it on afterwards while I "work".

I love keynote day! What is it? Hype? Why do we get so excited about this? My favorite Steve Jobs keynote, was when he was discussing iphoto and he got angry that the digital camera he had wasn't working. He ended up tossing the camera, missing its mark and (I'm sure) breaking the camera permanently.

That's ok, the stream will be hammered.
Hopefully the load on it will lighten up by the time you get home and comfy and can watch it when ample bandwidth is available to stream. So it's probably better that you get to watch it a bit later.

That was the exact message. Trying the Java client now uses an IP address, 207.44.134.38. However, I am still unable to connect. I tried some other IRC servers, though, and it appears that my issue lies in my firewall somewhere. Others will likely have more luck.

Well done with the great idea of choosing a server that requires ident. Most people behind a router/firewall can't get it and also most OSX chat clients don't ship with a ident daemon...
