i have a bunch of avi files that i captured on my pc. i transferd them to my osX box and tried to open them with fc express and it cant play them. they have sound but no video. any ideas why it would do this. thanks

it won't play the audio because avi usually encodes (from windows) into something like wma. you will need to re export them on your windows machine.

the video doesnt work. the audio plays its just the picture is black. also they wont even play outside of fc express. i trid quicktime mplayer vlan and windows media. can a mac play avi files or is it that maybe they are encoded in some weird windows format. thanks

i think i might have to use a program called doctor divx. i tried it and also i got the 3ivx codec with no luck. any ideas.
