Problem with camera on macbook

i was playing around with the camera and the effects. and 2 things happend. a Blue screen would flash when using the camera, and it then froze and quit by itself. why is this happening? the blue screen happends every once in a while but today was the first time it had to quit.. what should i do?

this is a new macbook
