Best Solution for constantly updating a gallery or portfolio.
I have been brainstorming on the best solution for updating and designing a portfolio part of a site. The basic requirements are just thumbnails and categories, but they would need to be easily updates. Would this have to be done in some kind of php? I would do a flash gallery, but I dont know how hard it would be to keep adding new work. Any ideas or resources?

Depends on your setup. PHP definitely has some power, such as simply adding images to a folder and PHP automatically has them as apart of the gallery. Updating HTML isn't hard either, especially if you have one gallery piece templated. I personally do my art gallery with XML. I throw in an image and make another XML entry to my file.

If you want to go the Flash gallery route SlideShowPro is a great solution. The accompanying Director is great for managing the gallery:
