Hello, tomorrow I'm going to get my first iPhone and intend on jailbreaking it later that day, mainly because I want to tether it. Before I go ahead with the jailbreaking, I'm a bit wary of how things will be when the next firmware version comes out. Will I lose all the saved data from my apps and games whenever I upgrade jailbroken firmware? If so, I'm thinking it might not be worth it to go ahead with the jailbreak.

when you jailbreak it initially, you wont lose anything. As far as the next update, it's anyones guess. If you wait until a new version of pwn is available for the next update, you should still be ok.
