Angry why does the media do this??

i simply cannot understand why the media does this...

if you go to

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/default.jsp

(default start up page for safari.)

one of the headlines is "French Hunt Bomb-Carrying Passenger on U.S. Flight."

you read the article and there's not ONE mention of the word "bomb."

this is ridiculous... makes me angry. it's borderline ok to sensationalize, but this is blatant lying or misleading...

I hear that. It's all about the headline, and what makes the story compelling enough to read. It's a sad state of affairs though, especially in this case. I already read that story on another website, and it wasn't nearly as misleading as that title is.

CNN is pretty bad anymore, foxnews is pretty bad too... MSNBC isn't a picnic... basically, until the public stops following the media's orders, we have little chance of seeing actual impartial news reporting.

the propoganda is getting worse, and these media companies don't even realize what they're doing.

I prefer to use the Google news service so I can cross-reference an article with multiple news sources.

There in the business of putting out headlines to catch our attention. To them the more outrageous the better. Hopefully journalism will return to the basics again.

Listen to THE DRUDGE REPORT Sundays at 10PM (East Coast Time).

Traditionally, The Media is both needed and unwanted. But it has become overly sensational in the last decade or so. It has grown into a horrible, unstopable monster. I say down with the big media.
