do the apple LCDs have VGA support? if not...is there any way to hook them up to a computer that does not have ADC support?

If you can get a video card with DVI output for the computer, then you can get one of the DVI-ADC connectors (from Apple or Dr. Bott).

For VGA-ADC, I found a link for one adapter here .

Unfortunately, Apple dispalys are proprietary. If you have a DVI-I/D or VGA connector, it is more cost-efficient to buy a display that supports these standards.

Apple excels in proprietary technology, their displays are but one excellent example. Expensive display + adaptor? They lose my vote.

I think I'll go for a Sony or something

thanks anyways
I would suggest Sony, Samsung, or NEC/Mistubishi. They seem to have the highest quality displays— and probably what you're looking for.
