Teleport Lite out

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...287351082&mt=8

For 99 cents compared to $24.99, the main thing seems to be you can only control the mouse?

No keyboard?

(huh? I can't type in anything?)

Post your reviews here.

I'm tempted to get it. I haven't gotten the regular teleport because I don't know how well it will work, but if the 99 cent version works, then that would be a good indicator for the $24.99 one working too.

Read the reviews of Teleport (Full/Pro, whatever we should call it now), and they will be the same for the Lite version. All he's done is removed keyboard access and reduced the price to make a nice trial version. I'm sure anyone who tries the Lite version will be sold on the full price version.

I have a review on iTunes for the full version, plus posts in every Teleport/VNC thread here if you need to be further convinced of it's greatness

Done. I'm convinced.

In the near term all I want is mouse access. So this will be a good "gateway drug"

CommanderData:: i have two 24inch screens which equals 3840pixels but their site says:

Teleport Lite supports high resolution displays (e.g. 3200x1200)

Anyone have dual 24" and does teleport drive them completely?

mochaVNC did not. To say the least.

I have only done a single 24" screen at a time. I don't think he's suggesting the limit is 3200x1200 though, my guess is he was testing with dual 1600x1200 monitors to prove you could hit high resolutions. I've done 1920x1200 so far without issue, which as you know Mocha cannot handle.

Hope that helps.

Just bought it. Tried it. Loved it except for one fact: with the lite version, one can do absolutely nothing but navigate one's screen. I have to admit, the refresh frame rate is awesome for such a small device as iPhone. Mocha VNC is rubbish compared to Teleport. Conclusion: Teleport is worth $25. I am buying it.

I may have to give it a try. Honestly, I've been less frustrated with Mocha VNC Lite than most people have and have not had any real inclination to pay the $25 for the much more talked-up Teleport, but a $1 trial version is more my speed to see what I think of it. And honestly, I rarely need the keyboard for what I use the VNC for anyway.

And mouse clicks right?

Edit: Thanks CommanderData!

It's too bad the developer didn't enable at least left-clicking in this $0.99 demo. I can see it's turned off a lot of people already... With no interactive capability at all it should have been given away free so that people could test to be sure they could connect, and maybe a left-click only version at $1.99, and the full version at $24.99.

Hell, I'd have paid $50 for the full version of Teleport it's so useful to me, but of course I have business uses for it. I suspect being able to access remote PCs is merely a novelty to most people.

Left clicking would be all i need in a "lite" version. I agree.

So the only difference between the $25 app and the free Mocha VNC Lite is that you can control multiple monitors with Teleport?

I use Mocha VNC Lite all the time (over the internet and on the same LAN) and it performs wonderfully. I do not have multiple monitors, so that is not an issue.

1) large monitor support (mocha does not support mine)
2) easier set up with bonjour support (not sure if mocha does that)
3) faster frame rates in teleport. (much faster)

This right here was worth the $25 for me. The difference between Mocha and Teleport when it comes to refresh is night and day!!
