Knock on wood! Knock on wood! Knock on wood! Knock on wood! Knock on wood!

I can't believe my reception in my basement was non existent, now I have 5 bars 3G IN MY BASEMENT!!!!!! All over the house really.

This morning I woke up, went down to my study in the basement to sync my daily podcasts..then I realized I had full 5 bars.

For some reason, my phone used to drop 3G at my local gas station. (I've been testing this since 17th...) Today, FULL 5 BARS all over BALTIMORE COUNTY!!!!!

Since this morning, I haven't seen anything below 5 bars!!! WOW...

At&T I don't know what you did, but keep doing it pleaseeee!!!

So this proves, reception problems were AT&T's fault not iphone's....

ALSO, I used to get 300-500kb speed at best, now I am getting 1.2-1.5mb in the middle of the day....

I know how you feel

I had gotten it on Launch, and the 3G was so slow. But, then a week later, it was sooo fast. I was amazed, and glad that, even if it is taking a little time, att is gotten of their butts, and fixing their 3G network.

Are you sure it's not EDGE? Since you probably have WiFi on at home, you won't be able to see if it's E or 3G...

Before you rejoice, confirm that it is indeed 3G.

Needs more exclamation points.:D

!!!!!!!!! I am like a kid with a new shiny toy man...I've been having terrible reception problems since the day I upgraded....then all of a sudden today, I am on the fast lane....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I thought first, I said to myself, oh good it says 3G but probably it's stuck. It must be EDGE in disguise...lol but then I fired up last.fm and been playing non-stop all over the town..... it's definitely full 5 bars 3G....

After seeing this thread I just noticed I have 5 bars of service in White Marsh also, I was usually getting 2-3. Wahoo!

5 bars here all over San Antonio, Texas...

Its looks like ATT is working overtime to tune their 3G network.

I get good 3G one day and it's gone the next....Some days I have 3-4 bars 3g at my desk and other days I can only get edge. I hope this means they are working on something and eventually I'll have 3G everyday.

I am currently on vacation in maryland, st Michael's to be exact. Yesterday, Aug 11 i had absolutely 'No service' for the entire day. I went into an ATT store to see what was up, they informed me that a tower was down and being upgraded in the area and would be up later that day.

Maybe that was what fixed your connection issues?

However, my 3g service is still lacking.

that is a video of my service in maryland, switching from 3g to edge.

I just came back from white marsh bally's.... FULL 5 bars... driving 80m/h on 695.. in the gym, out side of the gym....EVERYWHERE 5 BARS... :D:D:D
it was a dream to listen 160 bit radio stations...Today I've been listening 190 bit stations all day long, not one re-buffer.. AMAZING!!!

I just logged on to post the same thing! Five 3g bars in Pikesville in my house instead of the one I've had until now! Yay!

And I was happy that coverage in my house in VA Beach went from 1 bar all the time to occasionally getting 2 bars. My house is in the middle of a 2 block radius that has crappy coverage. I can go 2 blocks in any direction and have 4-5 bars.

I live maybe 5 minutes from there, stay outta my neighborhood :D

Doesn't this info indicate that your reception is improved 3-5x better, not 10?

False advertising.

Its weird. One day I get 5 bars and amazing speed and other days, like today, I get "No Service". Does anyone know if AT&T is doing anything to improve 3G signals??

Well this is great and all but i wonder when AT&T will be upgrading the rest of the US especially for the areas with poor reception :)

I wish I could share your joy...I have only had mine since last Saturday and while it works just fine everywhere else...in my houses I get 1 bar to no service. Edge gets me 1 to maybe 2 bars but data is worthless. Connecting wirelessly to my Verizon FIOS connection works great for data. Tmobile worked well here and Sprint works even better. I have a Sprint number ready to come over to AT&T but I am not sure. I am around the Indian River Rd / 64 Interchange.

I turned on my 3G today and found out its finally available! Its not listed on ATTs site that my city has it and I tried a couple days ago getting no service so they must have just turned it on

Good for you!

I think a lot of the issues will be solved when AT&T's side starts vamping up their 3G coverage on more towers.

I feel bad for people reporting such bad 3G service because here in Miami I have a solid 5 IIIII bars all times of the day, and even indoors.

The whole key to good 3G coverage is being able to acquire a good signal from multiple towers, and it seems they may have boosted power in your case, or simply leased more tower space.

Whatever it is, congrats! It's good to hear a good story among all the bad ones.
