Pwnage - What happens when 2.1 comes out?

I'm new to iPhone unlocking but have just successfully Pwage'd (is that a word?!) my 1st gen to 2.01.

I can't seem to find out anywhere if I have to go through the whole process again when apple releases 2.1 or if I can just upgrade through iTunes?

1) You upgrade and lose the jailbreak, just like 2.0.1
2) You wait till pwnage releases an update, restore, rinse, and repeat
