Access recent call log while on the phone?

iPhone 3G. Is it possible to somehow get to the recent call log while on a call?

Just noticed I couldn't get to it in the normal way. I was on the phone with someone and wanted to give them the number of someone who had just called me. But that option isn't available.

Am I missing something?
 
look at recent calls

to look at the regular phone app you can tap 'add call' while your on a call and it'll take you to the phone app and give you everything except voicemail.

Thanks that's it exactly. I knew there had to be a way. The phone is just too slick to not have something so basic.

Lovin' the iPhone.
