Why don't Apple allow us to use a custom SMS tone...?

I am really bored of the standard SMS tones available on the iphone...

I sometimes miss texts cos none of them are particularly alerting, does anyone know why apple don't allow us to customize our SMS tones?

Same goes for email.....

Anyone agree?

I've been wanting custom alert tones too.

I doubt it'll ever happen though.

Custom SMS alerts, new mail alerts, wallpaper? I'd love to see it happen, too!

At least give me the same options as the ringer! I have 4 friends with iphones and due to the limited choices we all have the same text sound! Gets a little old everyone checking there phones! I'd apreciate the bark or duck or horn anything really!
